Alliance / UniMac PowerFlex 40 Drive Cross-Reference Guide
Last updated October 21, 2026
UniMac and other Alliance Laundry Systems washer-extractors from this generation use Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 40 AC drives (also called the inverter, VFD or motor controller) to run the drum motor. Alliance sells each drive under its own service part number, and the same drive position has often carried two or three Alliance numbers over the years. This page maps those numbers to the underlying Allen-Bradley catalog numbers, adds Rockwell Automation’s ratings and lifecycle status for each one, and explains what to check before ordering a replacement.
Every mapping below comes from Alliance’s own washer-extractor AC drive documentation (manual F232120, Table 2, the drive and RFI filter part-number table), cross-checked against Rockwell Automation’s product pages and the PowerFlex 40 user manual. We list a number here only when a document backs it. Last verified October 15, 2026.

* Alliance’s table prints C002502 on two rows (the 7.5 HP 380-480 V row and the 10 HP 200-240 V row). We show it as printed; don’t rely on C002502 alone to identify a drive. Ratings and status are from Rockwell’s product page for each base catalog number; where Rockwell’s PowerFlex 40 user manual gives a different current figure (17.5 A and 10.5 A for the two 5 HP drives) we show the manual’s figure. 50-60 Hz on every row.
Thermal Harbor currently supplies the four bold rows: Alliance F8168602 / 22B-D6P0N104 (3 HP, 480 V), Alliance F8169418 / 22B-D010N104 (5 HP, 480 V), Alliance F8168702 / 22B-D012N104 (7.5 HP, 480 V) and Alliance F8168705 / 22B-D024N104 (15 HP, 480 V). For any other row, send us the part number and we’ll research a source — we don’t claim stock we haven’t confirmed.
How to read the table
- Several Alliance numbers, one drive. Each row is one drive position. The older numbers (F8044…, C0025…, F20030…) and newer ones (F81686…, F81687…) point to the same Allen-Bradley drive. Alliance’s parts store adds another layer: current numbers such as F8169418 are listed as replacing older ones.
- The “xx” in Alliance’s table. Alliance prints every catalog number with a trailing “xx” (for example 22B-D010N104xx). It’s a placeholder for the drive’s series suffix, not part of the number.
- B or D tells you the voltage. In this table every 22B-B… drive sits on a 200-240 V row and every 22B-D… drive on a 380-480 V row. A 480 V machine needs a D drive; the B drive of the same horsepower is a different part.
- The digits after the voltage letter are the current rating, not horsepower. 22B-D010 is the 10.5 A drive (5 HP at 480 V); 22B-B017 is the 17.5 A drive (5 HP at 240 V). Same horsepower, different drive.
Why suffixes matter
For the two 10 HP rows, Alliance’s table names a specific series letter (“A”) that the other rows don’t. Resellers often list these drives without any suffix. If your old drive’s nameplate shows a series letter, match it, or confirm with the seller that the unit they ship carries the same one. We don’t publish a 10 HP cross-reference until we can confirm the series letter on the physical unit.
Programming: what to expect
Alliance’s drive manual says the PowerFlex drives in its equipment are custom-configured with Alliance-specific parameters, that generic Allen-Bradley parameter documentation may not apply, and that a drive reset to factory defaults has to be re-loaded with the values Alliance specifies. Alliance’s troubleshooting manual points technicians to the programming decal on the drive, and lists wrong parameters as a cause of drive faults.
So a replacement PowerFlex 40 is not a plug-in swap: a technician enters the Alliance values through the drive’s built-in keypad (Alliance’s manual also names the optional Allen-Bradley 22-HIM-A3 hand-held unit). Photograph the old drive’s programming decal and nameplate before you remove it.
Machine won’t spin? Start with the UniMac / Alliance drive fault & no-spin troubleshooting guide. Still diagnosing? Our PowerFlex 40 fault code guide for Alliance / UniMac washer-extractors puts every drive fault next to Alliance’s own checks, so you can rule out wiring, supply and parameter problems before replacing the drive.
The newer Rockwell drives
Rockwell discontinued every PowerFlex 40 in this table on June 30, 2025 and lists a 25B-series engineering replacement for each one (note that the successor’s digits don’t always match, e.g. 22B-D012N104 → 25B-D013N104). That’s Rockwell’s successor in its own product line. We have not found an Alliance document that lists the 25B drives for these washer-extractors, and a different drive would need its own setup. Matching the 22B catalog number Alliance specifies is the low-risk route while unused units are available.

Before you order: a checklist
- Machine nameplate: model and serial number. Alliance asks for both whenever you contact them about a machine.
- Supply voltage: 200-240 V or 380-480 V, three-phase.
- Old drive nameplate: the catalog number (22B-…) including any series letter. Alliance’s manual identifies the drive by this nameplate.
- Alliance service part number, from the parts list or the old order. Use the table above to find its catalog number.
- Photos of the old drive’s nameplate and programming decal.
Send those with a request and we’ll confirm the match before you pay. You can also look up a part number directly.
Other Alliance drive families: Allen-Bradley 160, 1305 and 1336 series
The same Alliance manual (F232120) also covers three other Allen-Bradley drive families used on Alliance washer-extractors and lists their drive part numbers. They’re reproduced below exactly as printed, including the RFI filter Alliance pairs with each one.
What we can and can’t confirm for these. Alliance’s tables give only the base Allen-Bradley catalog number, and the drives actually fitted carry an option suffix (for example a 160-BA04 is sold as 160-BA04NSF1P1 or 160-BA04NPS1P1, which are different variants). Rockwell’s website has no product pages for these base catalog numbers, so we don’t list ratings or status. We research a source for you rather than claim stock: send the full catalog number from the old drive’s nameplate, including every suffix, with your request.

Alliance’s footnote to the Series A or B rows: they apply to C 18–50 lb. models or F 18–25 lb. models built before July 1999 with Series A or B drives; if a Series A or B drive was replaced with a Series C drive, use the Series C rows. The same catalog number has a different Alliance part number and filter for Series A/B and Series C. One row is printed “200-240-V” in the manual; we show it as printed.

Programming. For all three families Alliance’s manual carries the caution that users are prohibited from changing parameter values unless specifically instructed by the washer-extractor manufacturer, and it names the keypads used (160 series: PKM keypad F370851, and a CopyCat keypad for the Series C drives; 1305 and 1336: HIM keypad F370597). Any replacement needs Alliance’s parameter set for your machine.
